I tried to fill it out with material from the 1911 Britannica, transforming as I was able the material on an ongoing entity to the context of an historical entity without a terribly good knowledge of historical context. The article has two good maps and an infobox. The 20th century portion of the history needs filling in and the history before could need updating. It needs material from another source.
