Do we have the right man here?[edit]

It was Roger de Puleston, not 'Richard de Pulesdon', who was famously hanged at Caernarfon by the men of Anglesey. All the references I have to Roger de Puleston refer to him as Sheriff of Anglesey, not 'High Sherrif of Caernarfonshire'. This is even confirmed by Morris, whose book is quoted as sole reference here (see here). This needs sorting out. Was Roger appointed High Sheriff later or is 'Richard de Pulesdon' a completely different character (is it the [erroneous?] list of High Sheriffs which is at fault for the creating of this article?)? Either way this needs drastic amendment Enaidmawr (talk) 16:27, 22 April 2009 (UTC)[reply]

There may well be a mistake here and I think you are probably right. Can we create an appropriate page for Roger de Puleston? If you check on the list of Sherrif's of Caernarvonshire there may be a mistake there as well James Frankcom (talk) 10:08, 24 April 2009 (UTC)[reply]

According to Wales Topographical Dictionary, 1844, Vol 2 p. 437, Roger de Puleston was Sheriff of Anglesey "for life", not Caernarfon. He was hanged at Caernarfon. "Edward, incensed at the violence committed upon his lieutenant, severely punished the insurgents, and also chose his son, Sir Richard Puleston, Sheriff of the county" (presumably Anglesey).
