Notability
[edit]Please demonstrate, by providing acceptable third-party refernces, that this subject qualfies for inclusion under WPs notability criteria 86.144.79.30 09:33, 3 April 2007 (UTC)
- It's in the article: Cross Rhythms (major Christian music media) has reported on RPM's UK tour, a point under WP:MUSIC. --3M163//Complete Geek 09:54, 3 April 2007 (UTC)
- It needs more than a mention in one article to justify an entry here. If that is all there is, then the article really should be reviewed for deletion. 86.144.79.30 12:26, 3 April 2007 (UTC)
- Reviews and interview here, plus "Throw Myself Into You" was added to the playlist for Cross Rhythms on-line radio. I'll see if I can find some more stuff. --3M163//Complete Geek 12:51, 3 April 2007 (UTC)
- Good stuff, but it'll need to be a bit more than multiple plugs from the same outlet. Same goes on the article for the lead singer, really. I've been interviewed by The Observer and had a tune on national radio (don't ask - dreadful! lol) but it wouldn't count as notability, either. :-) 86.144.79.30 13:52, 3 April 2007 (UTC)
- Thanks for the comments! :-) Christian music is very hard to find verifiable sources for, as it's not generally covered by the mainstream media (for the record, I detest the arbitary distinction of "Christian" and "non-Christian" music). I'm almost positive that RPM is notable enough for Wikipedia; they've also played at Alton Towers' Ultimate Event '06 and at various youth festivals in Europe, and they have a weekly half-hour broadcast on the on-line Cross Rhythms radio. Unfortunately, Cross Rhythms is roughly the only major Christian media organisation in the UK, and so it will be very difficult to find other sources; however, I'll do my best. --3M163//Complete Geek 14:03, 3 April 2007 (UTC)

- I agree with you on the arbitrary division between secular and religious-themed music, tho I am not a Christian myself. Have been looking around myself (sorry, just realised that my comments here didn't say that so must have looked a bit negative) and I can't find anything much either. But if the refs for this are weak (and they are rather) then it's even worse for the lead singer, Jock At best his article should be heavily pruned and incorporated in the main article: the stuff about his wife etc is really unencyclopeadic IMHO. 86.144.79.30 14:14, 3 April 2007 (UTC)
- Yes; unfortunately, several fanpeople have added much useless trivia to his article in the past, so now I can't tell what's verifiable and what's fancruft. Ah, well; I'll begin incorporation. (And thanks for the article review!) EDIT: I'll be working on merging in my RPM sandbox --3M163//Complete Geek 14:27, 3 April 2007 (UTC)

I Surrender All
[edit]Erm... I was expecting search "I Surrender All" to land on the old hymn (citation link attempted, but my reference is blacklisted!!) I don't know enough about that one to start the page for it, but I do know that it is much older than RPM. Featherwinglove (talk) 17:00, 11 August 2013 (UTC)
