Consequences

[edit]

The sentence marked in bold in the following paragraph (from this article) makes absolutely no sense, as someone has already pointed out:

"After Lara's death, the Betancur government immediately approved the extradition law, and began a war against the Mafia. Later, the murdered Colonel Jaime Ramirez, declare under oath, having heard the Minister on the danger to his life, as the owners of the aircraft were found in Tranquilandia very uncomfortable and feared that whatever happens on his life could come from the drug industry. (this preceding sentence is so badly structured and makes NO sense) In turn, Enrique Parejo González was appointed Minister of Justice instead of his copartisan Lara. In its management, Parejo directs a harsh attack against drug trafficking extradite three members of the Medellín Cartel to United States."

Given that it is a very poor translation of a passage from the Spanish Wikipedia entry for Rodrigo Lara Bonilla, and given that the Spanish page is footnoted to a meagre article that does not actually offer any evidence to support this statement, I am deleting the problematic, ungrammatical sentence. See below the original Spanish language text:

"Posteriormente, el asesinado coronel Jaime Ramírez declaró, bajo la gravedad de juramento, haber oído decir al Ministro sobre el peligro que corría su vida, pues los propietarios de las aeronaves encontradas en Tranquilandia estaban muy incómodos y temía que cualquier cosa que contra su vida ocurriera, podría venir de ese sector del narcotráfico."
