Furniture vs. discussion[edit]

This article says specifically that it's about furniture. Certainly a nice article could be developed on the history and construction of actual round tables.

The 'round table' as a discussion would obviously not fit in the category 'furniture.' There would be a brief explanation that the use of such physical round tables led to a metaphorical usage, with (if needed) referrals to the appropriate article(s). A person seeking an explanation of an academic round table, for instance (my current need), doesn't need an article on furniture making. My feeling is that Round table (discussion) ought to redirect to a subhead under Academic conferences; not sure it needs its own page. Cynwolfe (talk) 16:18, 29 October 2008 (UTC)[reply]
