Optical drives

What is or was the optical drive division of Sanyo? The company created a format called HD-BURN to enable a standard CD-R to hold over 2 gigabytes of data. Sanyo attempted to get DVD player manufacturers to support HD-BURN. Optorite licensed HD-BURN and produced some multi format DVD burners with sopport for the format. Of course Sanyo also had HD-BURN support in their drives. Nero Burning ROM supported HD-BURN, I don't know if it still does or if any other optical disc recording software did or does support the format. A couple of links on HD-BURN. http://web.archive.org/web/20100105225821/http://www.digital-sanyo.com/BURN-Proof/HD-BURN/index.html http://www.afterdawn.com/news/article.cfm/2002/09/25/sanyo_doubles_cd-r_capacity_with_hd-burn Bizzybody (talk) 06:09, 20 April 2012 (UTC)
