Please feel free to edit this page, as work to date was just to have a reference as to some values for the gauge sizes. Topics suggested, how are guage thickness established, weights per square foot of material, standards in various jusidictions etc.

Also if anyone was inclined to do so, there could be a discussion about the various sheet metal gauges and tolerances, since there are various gauge definitions and standards from older sources. Even today industries working with sheetmetal follow rules and standards based in the early 1900's, and thus there are varying definitions and tolerances for sheetmetal practices and gauges today. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 66.230.84.208 (talk) 20:21, 21 August 2008 (UTC)

[edit]Please Note: The gauges listed for Zinc appear to be incorrect in the table below. They are in incorrect order based on 10ga (0.125) and approx 26ga (0.02). Someone with the proper knowledge should edit this table.
