Untrue statement on Whitehouse and cap and trade

This article claims Whitehouse voted against cap and trade, which is untrue. Whitehouse voted no "on requiring full debate" aka a filibuster. I am removing the sentence.— Preceding unsigned comment added by 50.197.30.49 (talk) 14:23, March 27, 2014 (UTC)

bad link, - needs updating, how about a RISDIC page too?

Whitehouse worked as Rhode Island Governor Bruce Sundlun's Executive Counsel beginning in 1991, and was later tapped to serve as Director of Policy. He oversaw the state's response to the RISDIC banking crisis [8]

<---- the [8] is a bad link.

Further, More needs to be said about the R.I.S.D.I.C. scandal. This was a rough time for a lot of Rhode Islanders. They had money, but were unable to get it because the state's deposit insurance company (RISDIC) was either broke, unfunded, or whatever. I cannot remember now. It was a REALLY significant banking crisis in the 1990's. There is a lesson from this scandal that we all need to know. Let's start a page about it, and also put more detail about Sheldon Whitehouse's role in overseeing the crisis. I remember this being a criminal scandal involving RI state officials. Many innocent people lost everything because of their $$ disappearing!

Hey, can we possibly get more info about the Senator's voting record and major votes and speeches? I remember he did one on the Gaspee, among others, so I think it'd be rather beneficial to have more examples of the Senator's work... And I think we need more info on the Kagan questions as well, that made front page news. 70.183.166.150 (talk) 21:23, 13 July 2010 (UTC)

Controversial comments on the Senate floor following the historic Oklahoma tornado devastation

Is anyone going to amend the wiki to include his controversial comments on the Senate floor following the historic Oklahoma tornado devastation? He needed to apologize for the insensitive and untimely comments which attempted to turn the unfolding tragedy to political advantage. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 108.41.124.81 (talk) 16:01, 25 May 2013 (UTC)

"Education" section is not at all informative.

What did Whitehouse actually study at Yale? Is his degree a science or an arts degree? Is he a nuclear physicist, or maybe an ancient Egyptian music specialist, or maybe he studied molecular biology or environmental science or a pre-law or pre-med program? How about a little more information on what a reasonable person might expect him to know about?

Hello! I have moved this section to the bottom of the page. In the future, please start a new section at the bottom and sign all talk page comments using four ~. As to the substance of the comment, I agree knowing what his degree is in would be helpful. This article, like most articles on U.S. Senators needs work! You can help by finding a reliable source with more information and adding the information and source to this article. Knope7 (talk) 17:30, 11 November 2017 (UTC)

Dark Money

The section about Whitehouse's stance on dark money spends much more time criticizing his connections to dark money groups than explaining his stance on them. Both are certainly worth talking about, but in its current layout it's so one-sided as to seem deliberately critical. Maybe worth revising? — Preceding unsigned comment added by 138.51.112.80 (talk) 20:31, 14 October 2020 (UTC)

Egregious Hypocrisy and Racism

Nothing in the article about the all-white beach club that he's a major shareholder of? Guess his staff is being careful to scrub the page, eh? — Preceding unsigned comment added by 2601:647:4F00:7D:50AC:18CB:F601:7F07 (talk) 09:29, 23 June 2021 (UTC)
