I've tried to improve the clarity of this subject. I may be able to further expand on this but want to make sure it is becoming clearer to those not already conversant with the subject. Charlie 15:32, 25 October 2005 (UTC)[reply]

I've rearranged things a bit, and I think it's a little clearer now to those of us unfamiliar with the subject -- can you check that all the facts are still correct? --Alynna 16:33, 25 October 2005 (UTC)[reply]
Looks pretty good to me. I didn't actually write the initial entry and have a little trouble with the term 'entertainment control' since it really isn't a common term but I don't have a good handle on exactly what term to use generically since things like lighting control, sound control, rigging control, pyro control, etc. are rarely referred to generically. I think I will make one more little edit.... Charlie 22:16, 25 October 2005 (UTC)[reply]

Regarding "Systems"[edit]

This entry is a bit dated. So-called PC-based systems are no longer confined only to the PC platform, as there are Macintosh-based systems, as well as proprietary systems based on personal computer technology. As well, embedded systems seem to include too wide a category. PLCs (which I assume were the original thought behind this category) still belong there, but where does something like an Alcorn-McBride V-16 belong? Lastly, there are plenty of examples of mixed systems, particularly in theme parks, which use PC-like systems for cuing and embedded systems as interconnected safety systems (for example). OK, it really needed updating and rewriting. It's in progress. Please don't panic about citations. They are coming. Oddjob84 (talk) 02:06, 3 November 2017 (UTC)[reply]

I'm done for now. I will be back. Oddjob84 (talk) 23:31, 22 November 2017 (UTC)[reply]
