Elections[edit]

I think the article needs to elaborate on what happened in Sadr City in the period between "The Beginning of the Siege..." and "The Sectarian Killings", including how the siege was affected by the elections in December 2005. At the moment, there is no link between September 2004 and November 2006. Lawrencema (talk) 09:13, 4 May 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Result[edit]

I changed the result from "stalemate" to something a bit more descriptive. I don't think that stalemate is quite accurate since the operation did not smiply yield the status quo before the operation. Cook503 (talk) 18:00, 3 July 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Well, to be pedantic, if I recall correctly (and nothing's saying that I do), there was little fighting in Sadr City before the April 2004 "uprising" and little fighting now, so the status quo was restored by "operation". However, more seriously, the result did need expansion and that is fairly accurate.Lawrencema (talk) 06:54, 5 July 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Antiwar.com[edit]

I don't think antiwar.com is the best of sources for an article like this. The news round-ups on Iraq, such as those compiled by Margaret Griffis and used as references on this article, are compiled from other sources. It is far better to use the original sources. Often, there are slight descrepencies, which make this all the more important. And sometimes, the source is third hand, e.g. antiwar.com uses wiredispatch.com for Reuters stories, instead of using the Reuters site. I am going to replace the sources now. BobFromBrockley (talk) 12:35, 12 August 2008 (UTC)[reply]

That's a good idea. No objections here. Lawrencema (talk) 23:43, 12 August 2008 (UTC)[reply]

300 dead?[edit]

Can we get any proof on this? --66.229.12.186 (talk) 14:44, 23 August 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Image copyright problem with Image:Smoke rises from the Green Zone after a mortar strike March 25, 2008.jpg[edit]

The image Image:Smoke rises from the Green Zone after a mortar strike March 25, 2008.jpg is used in this article under a claim of fair use, but it does not have an adequate explanation for why it meets the requirements for such images when used here. In particular, for each page the image is used on, it must have an explanation linking to that page which explains why it needs to be used on that page. Please check

  • That there is a non-free use rationale on the image's description page for the use in this article.
  • That this article is linked to from the image description page.

'Pre Occupation Iraqi Armed Forces'?[edit]

What does this refer to? Pro-Ba'athist/pro-insurgent remnants of Saddam's army? What ever it is, it should be changed to something more specific. Willknowsalmosteverything (talk) 20:27, 10 January 2013 (UTC)[reply]
