Proposal to split[edit]

I've added {{split}} to the article, because I believe it should be split into three pages; one for the railroad signalman, one for the U.S. Navy rank, and one for the Australian army rank. (It could also be split into two pages, one for the railroad use, and a general one regarding its use as a military rank). —LrdChaos 16:21, 14 March 2006 (UTC)[reply]

I agree with the later, this should split into a railway usage and a single page for the military rank similar to the Private (rank) page. Having a page for each nations version of the signalman is going to be a mess. I'm a signalman in the British Army, and Im sure many other armed forces use this rank. Yay for sock puppets. This page has been split, and a refrence to the term signaller has been added. I'm going to wade through the list of "What links here", and correct what I can. Renski 14:33, 20 September 2006 (UTC)[reply]
Another quick note the limited amount of info that was here has been moved to signalman (rail) and signalman (rank). Both are in serious need of updating. Renski 15:32, 20 September 2006 (UTC)[reply]
