It seems to me that this article needs treatment from a professional who can provide wording that is less colloquial and more clinical. I tried to help in this regard by changing things like "you may notice" to "one may notice", but this is just a basic attempt. The language is still not very encyclopedic.... P.S. If it would somehow help, I found this page after hearing the term "skin maceration" while watching a video at http://www.huffingtonpost.com/entry/viral-cyst-pop-is-the-lesion-of-doom_us_56f0137fe4b03a640a6b1192.
