Conservative leader?[edit]

William Copley was a conservative and leader of the opposition in 1896 according to the source I used at Leader of the Opposition (South Australia), but his article says he was elected in 1896 (after taking time out of state politics). So he can't have been opposition leader at the time. The prior opposition leader ended in 1895. So who was the Conservative leader at the election?
