Inaccurate interpretation

"He is desperate about his life and is contemplating suicide, perhaps due to his boss, who puts down Sammy's dreams."

I took the liberty of removing this, as I feel it is not an accurate representation of the song's content. I agree that contemplating suicide is an inaccurate representation of the song's content. I've seen people say elsewhere that "Sammy" is thinking about it, but the lines

He'd made up his mind

"This could be my last chance"

doesn't make sense in that context. Why would he only have one chance to commit suicide? Piano

John doesn't play the piano on the record. He just did it for the first part of the video because Freddie was bladdered during filming. Reasons to be certain about that are:

- In most cases (including this, I reckon), piano, bass and drums were recorded simultaneously as part of the backing track. A notable exception is Deacon's song, You're My Best Friend, and of course, the tunes not having piano.

- Playing style is clearly Freddie's, especially at the end

- Credits don't mention John playing the piano in there. That's still not a 100% proof since credits often omitted details (for instance, in the same album, Brian played piano on All Dead All Dead and it isn't mentioned).

Not being familiar with every British slang word that exists, I had to look up "bladdered", and my answer to that is, no he wasn't. It'd be pretty damn obvious, and I even saw footage on YouTube of the band in between takes, Freddie seemed pretty sober to me. Either that, or he could hold his liquor better than any human, ever (and that's not true, either). But apart from that, you're right about Deacon playing piano, because out of the three members that had skills on the keys, Deacon was the most limited on it, since he only learned how to play it when he was in the band, and even then his skills didn't go very far. "You're My Best Friend" is (probably) the only song he ever contributed to on the keyboard. Fred wasn't selfish about letting the other members occasionally shine, so he let John play the piano in real life on YBF and in the SYW video. Besides, Fred himself thought he was nothing special as a pianist, so it's not like he was gonna be protective about his bandmates playing it, regardless if they're not better or worse than he was. 24.189.90.68 (talk) 08:32, 8 April 2010 (UTC)

Soft rock?

Too soft for "Hard Rock" but too heavy for "Soft Rock"
