Strings alone?[edit]

We call it a suite for string orchestra, and categorise it as a composition for string orchestra. But we also say Holst added wind parts. I'm unsure if this means the piece as normally played today is confined to strings alone, or includes winds, or there are 2 versions which conductors can choose from. I got sidetracked, sorry. OK, so the original version was for strings alone. Are we saying he later wrote a different version, with winds added to the strings?
