This article gives the impression that all Diesel enjins are direct injection type. Surely this is not true? user:Renier Maritz

Not all diesel engines are direct injected! but I think that the diesel to gasoline conversion requires an indirect injection diesel engine because it needs a precombustion chamber that spreads through colder air into combustion chamber. Note also that these engines suffer from high Unburned Hydrocarbon emissions (Borman, Gary L. ASME, Journal of Engineering for gas Turbines and Power Vol 122, April 2000).--Pickup lb 09:45, 27 November 2005 (UTC)[reply]

Stratified[edit]

Stratified means to classify in strata, how does that relate with this type of engine, is not clear by the article and it would be nice to know. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 136.8.33.70 (talk) 10:14, 6 January 2017 (UTC)[reply]

TFSI is an Audi trademark for their system for combining direct injection and turbocharging in a petrol engine. If anything (and if such a section existed, which it doesn't) then a merge to Gasoline direct injection#Turbocharging might make some sense.
As to stratified charge though, TFSI just isn't an important use of it. This is not the major aspect to it. Andy Dingley (talk) 23:33, 15 March 2017 (UTC)[reply]
Agree that this merge isn't appropriate, so removed merge templates. Klbrain (talk) 17:01, 6 April 2017 (UTC)[reply]
