Where IS Sunny Hill? My sister and I grew up there and still disagree! If looking on multimap you'll find it where I've written it here - the more southerly 'hill', near the railway line to Birmingham. If you look on the map showing the location of St. Giles, Normanton, (effectively the Parish Church) that clearly shows Sunny Hill to be the more northerly 'hill' (which is where my sis always used hopefully to take it to be, since we lived near there, and she liked the name!) Based on the old maps (1883 to 1930s) Sunny Hill was a small hamlet along Stenson Road between today's Sunnyhill Avenue in the north and Blagreaves Lane in the south, with Stenson Road climbing in between to the crest near the footpaths to Mark's Close and Oadby Rise. The latter footpath looks like it was the entrance to Sunny Hill House (and farm house), which would have sat on top of the 'hill' with good views around.
I've today added some history, local facilities and references sections, and (provisionally) removed the 'stub' indicator. Cebderby (talk) 17:11, 26 May 2012 (UTC)
