I realise that this is terribly rough, but it seemed important to get this entry going. I am contacting a very large number of the leading thinkers and practioners in this area world wide and asking them to pop in and do their bit. I am confident that a number of them will do just that.ericbritton 18:12, 27 January 2006 (UTC)[reply]

So far this has been a one man job (and shows it). That said, it's not bad for a start and is certainly good enough for us to open up the doors and let the world in to have a whack and get this into first class shape. ericbritton 18:12, 27 January 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Wouldn’t you say that we have made enough progress here to merit taking this” sticker of shame” ("To meet Wikipedia's quality standards . . .") off this entry? Why do I say that? Well, first because there have been some meticulous minds who know nothing about your process who have come in and told me that you are “complaining” about this entry. Now while I explained, ever so patiently, that this is part of the process and that they should take this as a challenge to pitch in and make it better, it seems that they prefer kvetching. (It takes less energy, eh?)

But also I think that it is important that you who patrol around here for the common good take into consideration that this is a very complex sector that is moving ahead on a number of different fronts, and that capturing this in words in the necessary neutral way simply takes some thought and time. I continue to work on this when I can, but as several of my world level colleagues have made the point, what we have thus far., warts and all, is still an important contribution.

So if you would? (Otherwise continue to harass me but in very specific terms so that I can do my best. Because I do think it is important on this too hot and too selfish planet

BTW, this thing we call ‘sustainable transportation’ is in itself a Self-Organizing Collaborative Network really; in its way not all that different from your Wikipedia. The difference is that we are trying to patch together the concept in its many, usually chaotic (in the proper meaning of the term) parts and context, on the street rather than just on paper. Back to work. ericbritton 15:08, 31 January 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Decided to be bold today, so took out the "To meet Wikipedia's quality standards . . ." sticker. This should not be taken as a sign of complacency however. I realize that this needs more work and indeed we are getting a very useful flow of commentary and expert counsel on the in the various fora of the New Moblity Agenda, and this will be factored in here increasingly in the weeks ahead. That said, if there are any specific leads you might have for improvement, believe me that they will get my full attention.ericbritton 11:29, 4 February 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Umass link[edit]

This link: *Anna Nagurney's Fulbright lectures on Sustainable Transportation was added by User:Supernet who appears to be an agent of the site since they are promoting the site across wikipedia. It may be a good site so I've moved it here for consideration by regular editors of the article in keeping with the conflict of interest and external links guidelines. -- Siobhan Hansa 01:52, 23 January 2007 (UTC)[reply]
