Dedication[edit]

The novel is dedicated "to the memory of REGINALD VINCENT CAMPBELL CORBET who fell, while a boy, in the East and GEORGE FREDERICK FRANCIS CORBET who passed, while a boy, in the West".

Hello Carcharoth Yes - I'll happily make and post a photo of the headstone for Second Lieutenant GGF Corbet. Interestingly this headstone seems to be in the civilian cemetery along with a number of other military headstones. I'm told the earliest burials by the CWGC at the Military Cemetery were in 1917 and this may explain why the Lieutenant is in the civilian area (along with 12 or 14 VC holders).
