Untitled[edit]

The Tewkesbury Mustard entry is way too long and contains far too much trivia - propose to heavily edit it. --Jjasi 07:20, 14 August 2006 (UTC)[reply]

  • As a former Tewkesbury resident and contributor of parts of the Tewkesbury entry, including the paragraph about the mustard, I would say that paragraph is perhaps a little bit long-winded now (is it you who has re-structured parts of the Tewkesbury article in the last day or so? Nicely done - it reads better now). As for the mustard, it was I who was able to buy some in Fortnum & Mason and also in Berlin, but maybe that's not really so remarkable - it's good enough to be available in many other places too (perhaps Macy's in New York stocks it), so that sentence can perhaps be binned.

Facebook[edit]

On Facebook tewkesbury is flagged as a city which of course it is not. Following this through, I see the City Project within Wikipedia lists it this way; this may be the cause. Battle of[edit]

I have removed the line that claimed this was the final battle of the Wars Of The Roses, and inserted historic instead, The Last Battle of this War was a Smallish Skirmish known as the Battle of Stoke Field on 16th June 1487, YES after Bosworth on the 22nd August 1485.

  • I see no mention of the Battle of Tewkesbury (4 May 1471), which brought the Yorkist line of the Plantagenet dynasty to the throne for the first, though brief, time. 83.249.179.117 (talk) 04:48, 11 August 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Lord Robert Bird III[edit]

On the 29th Aug 195.188.195.178 edited the page and added in the first line that Tewkesbury is "the home town of Lord Robert Bird III,". Who is this person? If they are a real individual and they live in Tewky is it really a topic for the first line? If they are real they should they not be added to the Famous People section? Unreferenced tag[edit]

I've added the unreferenced tag to the page as it now seems to have way too many things presented as "facts" without citation that are difficult or impossible to verify. This is, as happens all over Wikipedia, leading to additional uncited "facts" being added. I'll try to verify some myself but am likely to remove those which are not externally verifiable. Mitton - Gloucestershire or Worcestershire?[edit]

Many parts of Tewkesbury, Gloucestershire have very close borders to Worcestershire. This article implies (section "Modern Governance") that Mitton is in Gloucestershire. Some maps show Mitton as in Worcestershire. I understand that it's possible that the border moved. Can this article be expanded to state which county Mitton is in, right now, and the history (if any) of that land moving between Worcs and Glos please? I suspect there was some kind of deal either around the time of the 1960s/70s housing development or the recent 2010s development; could be wrong so would appreciate a good source. This Google Street View link (August 2018) shows the Worcs border sign to the north of Mitton on Bredon Road, indicating that Mitton is currently in Gloucestershire. Whereas this Wikishire link shows Mitton in the historic county of Worcestershire.
