Untitled[edit]

The Cryptkeeper Five is an established band in the indie rock and roll scene who's music was used in the 2007 movie Welcome to Dreadville II: Red in Dreadville. They were also mentioned and reviewed in the 2009 book Music to Die For by Mick Mercer, published by Cherry Red Books. The band's logo is featured in the 2006 book CBGB: Decades of Graffiti by Christopher D. Salyers, published by Mark Batty Publisher.

Notability[edit]

I'll see what I can do. Tonight I edited the article to demonstrate that Allmusic has two of their CDs listed in a band discography on their site, among other included links. A previous editor (or editors) have pointed out their having been included in published books, and that their music is featured in a film (you'll see them on the "see full cast" expansion of the IMDb link that I provided).

I removed the orphan tag. I know its linked to at least 3 wiki articles. A moot point if the nominator goes forth and deletes this thing...

Sorry 'bout the bare links. I'll work on that if this thing survives.

It's tough man... this is a band that's been around, are notable to followers of this internationally notable scene (not that the band necessarily tours internationally, but their presence is known far beyond Jersey). It's not that easy to demonstrate by Wiki's standards, but it's like "I know it when I see it" if you follow this stuff. And I assume the nomination comes from someone who is interested in the scene (probably got here from a link I included on another scene page). Hopin' for some sympathetic allies.

For the record, I'm just a guy who follows this stuff, not connected with CK5

@Keithramone: When an article is nominated for deletion, it means a discussion will take place over the next seven days. In the meantime you don't have to worry about it being deleted. Feel free to leave your opinion on the deletion at the discussion here: Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/The Cryptkeeper Five. What people will be looking for are reliable sources independent of the subject which cover the band in a significant way. Reviews, interviews, biographies, etc. in reliable sources are the way to go. Any band can be listed at allmusic, mtv, and other databases. — Rhododendrites talk \\ 02:31, 22 March 2015 (UTC)[reply]
@Rhododendrites:I have added a "press coverage" section, and included examples of writing about the band from Spartanburg Herald, Jersey Beat, The Press of Atlantic City, Trentonian, and others. I know that this is heavy handed and introduces a new problem of non-neutral tone. The article now needs more work than it did prior to my effort. However, I wanted to meet the notability critique head on.Keithramone33 (talk) 03:52, 22 March 2015 (UTC)Keithramone33[reply]
@Rhododendrites: Ok, it's been over a week. I have worked hard to improve the page, to establish notability for the subject. There are multiple non-trivial references from credible sources not associated with the band. There has been no discussion here supporting deletion since my original objection. Can I remove the tags now? Keithramone33 (talk) 18:47, 29 March 2015 (UTC)Keithramone33[reply]

Removed remaining tags[edit]

The old tags were concerned with items covered in the AfD debate, and the article is in different condition than when those tags were applied years ago. Keithramone33 (talk) 17:47, 26 April 2015 (UTC)Keithramone33[reply]
