Untitled[edit]

The article reads as advertisement. Also, no case is made that this article deserves to exist as the hotel seems non-notable. I will fix some of the too obvious hotelcruft but if someone cares about this article please re-write it significantly so as to avoid an AfD. Pascal.Tesson 23:24, 25 June 2006 (UTC)[reply]

I don't have an personal insterest in this article but thought I should mention that it is one of several main hotels in the Causeway Bay area, I started the article for Metropark Hotel. It is difficult to find that sort of information about specific hotels, although I have no idea about Wikipedia rules as I see quite a lot of useful articles are being deleted these days for various reasons. I think this article simply needs further development, I cannot provide information myself since I have not stayed there. Ticksoft 13:53, 2 July 2006 (UTC)[reply]
Fair enough but if you mean "useful" in the sense that it provides information of touristic interest, then precedents show that this info should be on WikiTravel and not on Wikipedia. If there is information about this hotel that makes it of encyclopedic interest then indeed it should stay. Currently it is not clear that much can be said about the hotel besides its location, the number of rooms and so on. Pascal.Tesson 13:33, 3 July 2006 (UTC)[reply]
I have had a look at WikiTravel and its no where near as comprehensive; it would need a lot of work compared to Wikipedia just to create the location articles that would link to the hotel page. I am going to stop contributing to Wikipedia for a while, so hopefully someone else will rewrite this and the Metropark when they have time. Good luck. :) Ticksoft 15:03, 3 July 2006 (UTC)[reply]

notable[edit]

As the hotel is standing on Lot No.1, the first plot of land sold at auction after Hong Kong became a British Colony in 1841, I think it is notable. Shrimp wong 04:07, 2 September 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Fair enough. Actually I don´t mind the article if it is centered on encyclopedic content and not on tourist information. Pascal.Tesson 13:00, 2 September 2006 (UTC)[reply]
