Applies only to American editions[edit]

Unfortunately, some of this article applies only to an unknown (to me) number of American editions. The stories in the original (and later) British editions all appear to be set in England. The $4,000 is £800, and Inspector Fernack is Claud Eustace Teal; and so forth.
