Suggestion[edit]

Wow, I don't think there's but one othere Star Trek novel article that's as good as this one. Anyway, one suggestion for improvement is for the characters section to have a short blurb after each person. A blurb, not about the character throughtout Star Trek, but rather about there role in The Kobayashi Maru would help fill in the article, and would eliminate a short list. Good luck with the article, Newnam(talk) 19:19, 7 August 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Scotty's "Kobayashi Maru" test[edit]

It's worth noting that in the novel, Scotty put himself on report for cheating, as he knew that the method he used to destory the third wve of Klingons wouldn't work in real life, although the simulation computer thought it would. This apparently was a software bug he was aware of.

It's also worth noting that he was thinking of more devious ways to destroy Klingons, including the attempted use of antimatter in a magnetic bottle, a method that Kirk would use later himself, and actually suceeded in drawing the Klingons over onto the Federation side of the Neutral Zone. I think Scotty's efforts might have been mentioned in a flashback dealing with the efforts of one of the other characters. tharkun860 04:17, 10 September 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Fair use rationale for Image:St-kobayashi-maru-cover.jpg[edit]

Image:St-kobayashi-maru-cover.jpg is being used on this article. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in this Wikipedia article constitutes fair use. In addition to the boilerplate fair use template, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use.

Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to insure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.

If there is other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on the other images used on this page. Note that any fair use images lacking such an explanation can be deleted one week after being tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you.
