If anyone should have any facts about Sir Thomas, please add them to the page. I have tried to research his life but the lack of solid information has proved insurmountable.

Events after Spert's death[edit]

I've provisionally deleted this material from the article as the ODNB article on Spert states that he died in December 1541:

In 1542 he was granted lands in Essex, and in 1544 he is shown as the owner of a ship called the Mary Spert, which was serving with the fleet against the French. He remained master of the Great Harry until 1550. His next promotion was to be 'Clerk Controller' of the king's ships. It is probable that he died soon afterwards; it may be deduced from Eden's remarks that he was not living in 1555.

It seems possible he was the owner of the Mary Spert, and perhaps some other citation for that can be found, and the information worked back into the article. NinaGreen (talk) 19:19, 24 November 2013 (UTC)[reply]
