savage edit August 2011[edit]

somehow in the middle of this I got logged out, hence the 'no-credit' edit log. However, it's me wot done it, and the edit was a simple prune to reflect a balance of the history and refs. What I hacked was unneccesary for an encyclopaedic entry and/or simple puffery - intentional or otherwise. Having met the man on a number of occasions over the years, I'll happily mark his dedication to the business somewhere else. However, we're in Wiki-world here, and what we want in Wiki-world is simple basic facts; and the old article wasn't that. And that's how it should be - if you want more you go to the specialists. Otherwise I'd happily do a thousand-page article on why Neu!, Hawkwind and the Golden Gate Quartet are quite simply the most influential bands since Scott Joplin and walk away, and so would every other closet spoff on any subject they're specialised in that hasn't blown them up or removed limbs; and where would we be then if not knee deep in nonsense!!!
