Turner Browne[edit]

I'm writing to clarify a few areas on my biography. I'll just interject the changes in a rewrite below to keep the style of what you have written.

Turner Browne was born on July 6, 1949 in Lake Charles, Louisiana. From 1969 to 1970 he attended Louisiana State University in Baton Rouge but decided to teach himself photography. In 1973, the Sunflower Foundation gave him a grant which began his career. In 1977 his book Louisiana Cajunswas published by the Louisiana State University Press with text in both English and French. The same year a documentary film titled The New Klan was released in which he was the main cinematographer. Two years later he was invited to participate in the making of Only Once in a Lifetime where he was the director of photography. In 1987 The French Institute exhibited his work in New York City and from there sponsored tours in several major cities. In 2000 Browne donated the Cajun photographs to the Library of Congress in Washington D>C>. In 1983 he published the book Photographic Artist and Innovators, and in 1993 The Last River. Currently he works as a photographer and lives in the San Fernando Valley of Southern California.
