rhotacism

[edit]

Is the rhotacism due to Slavic valkolak becoming vârcolac in Romanian, then entering Bulgarian again? Lisa the Sociopath 04:38, 31 October 2007 (UTC)[reply]

I don't know about Bulgarian, but in other South Slavic languages it seems obviously composed of (Slavic) roots vuko (adj. for wolf) and dlak (dlaka means hair). I'm not sure if the Bulgarian name should be the article title given that it's different from the rest of the pack, it's probably like that because someone who primarily speaks Bulgarian first wrote it. --Joy [shallot] (talk) 11:32, 23 November 2011 (UTC)[reply]
