Nice article, very neat that you have a description of each contributing property and a picture of almost every one. I wonder if links back to here should be added to the wikipedia articles about the nation-wide or world-wide fraternities and sororities. Also, the corresponding frat and sorority articles may benefit from adding your nice pictures to them, and/or linking to this article. For links to work well coming back to here, though, the individual fraternity should probably be in a separate section. Or perhaps keep the table as it is, but split out / create separate articles about the more noteworthy individual houses. As you know, there is a Contributing Property option for use in the NRHP infobox. doncram (talk) 19:13, 4 March 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks for the suggestions. :) I've done a little searching, and all I've got is a brief paragraph about each from the nomination form. I don't think it's really enough for individual articles. Several of the houses have been more than one fraternal organization in their history. I personally know that two have been in the same building since the 50's (Tri-Delt, the one my Mom pledged and Gamma Phi, the one her best friend belonged to). I'm not sure that linking to the fraternal organization articles would be useful, considering the changeable nature....and what I have is really just the status at the time of nomination, with some very brief historical detail, and then what's there currently, documented by photo. I have no history of what else they may have been in the intervening 26 years. So, while I wouldn't object to someone developing this in that way, I'm not prepared to do it myself. Alpha Phi[edit]

About the Alpha Phi contributing property, I wonder especially if this one would merit more development and a separate article. I notice at the Alpha Phi wikipedia article that it is a "fraternity" of women which was founded at Syracuse University. I wonder whether this particular house was the original, sole place where that sorority existed and then developed from. If this is a reasonably important place in the sorority's history, then adding a pic of this building to the nationwide article, with a thumb description pointing back to here, would be helpful there and would build traffic here. doncram (talk) 19:13, 4 March 2009 (UTC)[reply]

The sorority was founded in 1872. The house was built in 1898, and was a private residence before it was Alpha Phi. So, they had over 25 years of history before purchasing the house. The nomination form doesn't say exactly when they purchased it. Lvklock (talk) 03:21, 5 March 2009 (UTC)[reply]
