I realize this is a short article, but I know it can be longer. Base it off of Larry O'Brien Championship Trophy. Suppose I can't see the image; what does the trophy look like? How big is it and how much does it weigh? What's it made out of? Maybe have a section for the winners like the O'Brien article; other than the navbox there is no link to the list of winners. Some comments from another reviewer:

There's a minor issue with what the article is about:

this physical object, the Walter A. Brown Trophy that was used from 46 to 77;
the trophy that went by this name, regardless of the object involved, which means from 49 to 83; or
the title of winner of the NBA finals or equivalent, which means from (at least) 46 to the present day.

The article is about 1 and 2. Basically, it was the actual championship trophy from 46 to 77 and the name for the new championship trophy from 77 to 83.—Chris! _ct 04:37, 4 July 2009 (UTC)[reply]

There is more to this question than semantics. Like Reywas, my immediate expectation, given the title and the photo, was that there would be a section on the design and making of the trophy, about which instead there is nothing.

Related to the previous point: the lead says it was awarded "at the conclusion of each NBA season from 1949 to 1977", while the last sentence says "The final recipient of the trophy was the Philadelphia 76ers, who defeated the Los Angeles Lakers in the 1983 NBA Finals". These two need to be consistent.

User:Rst20xx told me here that merging this with List of NBA champions would not affect the FT that this article is a part of. And that's what I am going to do since there is no way I can satisfy your request. (I actually email someone at the Basketball Hall of Fame and they told me that little is known about the trophy also) Thanks for the review because it actually push me to look everywhere. It sounds to me as though a merge may be a good option. It appears, in addition to recognising the limited information about the individual trophy, that a merge would avoid some of the ambiguity regarding the time period covered by the article. The merged article could then have a section that was about the various names and organisations associated with the trophy throughout its history, which would be good. hamiltonstone (talk) 23:51, 6 July 2009 (UTC)[reply]
