Given that most circumcisions are performed for cultural and aesthetic reasons and not for medically indicated reasons, I think the wording "excessive removal of ventral penile skin" is strange. How does anyone define what the proper amount of removal is? You would have to have a goal in mind (possibly aesthetic or functional) to say that an excessive amount is removed and that the mark has been missed. Maybe the wording should say something about how more is removed than is the goal of circumcision. Or more is removed than intended. Or more is removed than in most people. Important question, thank you. Indeed, mild forms of webbed penis should never be operated surgically on minors (below the age of 18 years). But there are severe forms of webbed penis, f. e. a real fusion of penile skin and scrotal skin. A "little webbing" may be no problem for sex life or the use of condoms; adults, men (18+) may go to a beauty farm to have the "web" amputated ... perhaps they should not, because there will be a scar or / and a loss of nerve endings in the zone of the Perineal raphe. Mechanism/Pathophysiology section[edit]

While the entire article strikes me as a sort of rumination on the condition, the above mentioned section really needs attention.
