Q1: Should the names of Seung-Hui Cho and/or Michael Kennedy be included as notable alumni? (Yes.)
A1: Yes. This discussion has been made many times by the main editors. If the two names were not listed, it would break Wikipedia's guidelines for neutral point of view (NPOV). NPOV states that an article can neither be for or against its subject. The article must simply state the facts and leave interpretation up to the reader. The fact is that these two people did graduate from Westfield High School and as such should be included. Also, note that the subjects are referred to as the Notable Alumni, not famous or infamous. Quite literally, the alumni listed there are worthy of note, without any preexisting connotations of being positive or negative. We realize this information may be interpreted badly by some readers and already has been by the press.[1] We also realize that the majority of people who want to remove them from the list are students/faculty/staff/alumni etc. of Westfield and only want the best for it; but in order for the article to be as accurate as possible, they must stay.
