Length[edit]

This article is very interesting but it seems to me to be rather padded with tidbits on the history of White Castle itself, the impact of The Jungle, etc - only about 1/3 of the article is about its stated subject.--Dmz5*Edits**Talk* 17:33, 18 January 2007 (UTC)[reply]

8/???[edit]

"... is significant for being one of the few prefabricated, portable buildings once built by the chain."

Is that one of the few buildings *ever made*, or one of the few buildings *still existing*? It would be nice to have some mention of the total number of prefabricated, portable buildings built by White Castle. P.S. I agree with Dmz5; most of this article should likely be moved to the main White Castle article. -- 19:16, 18 January 2007 (UTC)

  • I think the reference to Building No. 8 deals with the sequence in which they were built in Minneapolis. I don't know offhand how many porcelain on steel buildings the chain actually built. I'd have to recheck the Denis Gardner book to see if it mentioned how many were built or how many still remain. As far as the history of the chain versus the history of the restaurant is concerned, the Gardner book (my primary source) mentioned the history of the chain to give the restaurant building some context. I think there's some opportunity to move some of that information to the main White Castle article, but this article about the particular building should still contain enough of it to put the building into context. --Elkman - (Elkspeak) 21:58, 18 January 2007 (UTC)[reply]
