Incorrect use of the word "remit" in second paragraph of the article[edit]

Judging by the context, I believe the author was trying to use a word which means 'sphere of influence" or 'bailiwick'. His/her choice of the term 'remit' likely represents a phonemic error, with the appropriate word actually being 'ambit'. A quick look in the Concise Oxford Dictionary gives "the task or area of activity officially assigned to an individual or organization". The word "ambit" is rarely used in modern English. Greenshed 21:10, 28 October 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Education??[edit]

Given his importance, I'm very surprised there's nothing to indicate where he was educated or how he was selected for such a senior position. I gather the de Havilland mosquito was referred to as Freeman's folly. JRPG (talk) 13:18, 20 July 2021 (UTC)[reply]
