Birthplace and birthdate[edit]

Some sources declare Chard or Leicester as the birthplace of William Samuel Henson. Can someone give a valuable advice on how to desentangle this problem? Also, how can it be demonstrated that the sources citing 1805 as the year of his birh are all incorrect? Is it a POV or there is a current consensus among aeronautics historians that 1812 is his true birthyear? Эйхер (talk) 10:48, 22 September 2013 (UTC)[reply]

The 1870 US Census, 11th Ward, Newark, New Jersey, August 11, 1870, line 21 notes William S Henson, age 58, Civil Engineer. That correctly places his birth year at 1812. He is my 4X grandfather.
