This is an old revision of this page, as edited by Krinkle (talk | contribs) at 01:38, 25 August 2021 (Add image alt "Featured article" for when the icon fails to load (e.g. server error, or when saving page in Chrome and viewing offline because of phab:T227391). Previously the link tooltip was used as default alt text which made the whole "This is. click here for" line render in the first heading as literal text which seems far too long). The present address (URL) is a permanent link to this revision, which may differ significantly from the current revision.
This template is used on approximately 6,800 pages and changes may be widely noticed. Test changes in the template's /sandbox or /testcases subpages, or in your own user subpage. Consider discussing changes on the talk page before implementing them. |
About
This template places a small star () in the top right corner of an article to indicate that it is a featured article on Wikipedia, and that it has met the featured article criteria, successfully passing a nomination on the featured article candidates page. It categorises them into Category:Featured articles.
Usage
This template should be placed at the top of the article after hatnotes. It should be removed if a featured article fails a featured article review, as well as from articles that have never passed through the featured article candidates process.
Editors can experiment in this template's sandbox (edit | diff) and testcases (edit) pages.
