Template:WikiProject Connecticut/doc

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Usage[edit]

This template {{WikiProject Connecticut}} adds articles to Category:WikiProject Connecticut articles and is a self-reference. Please add to relevant articles' talk pages.

This template should be transcluded as {{WikiProject Connecticut}} and not substituted {{subst:}} because it employs conditional code. Transclusion also allows easy updating of all the Project's talk pages without having to edit thousands of pages.

The template also employs several optional data field parameters as described below.

{{WikiProject Connecticut
|class =
|importance =
|attention =
|imageneeded =
|in =
|imagedetails =
|unref =
}}

Parameters legend[edit]

  • class: Options are FA, FL, A, GA, B, C, Start, Stub, NA, Category, List and Template. If blank (#default), this will default as unassessed and list the article at Category:Unassessed Connecticut articles. NA is "not applicable". Descriptions of some of the options can be found at WikiProject Connecticut/Quality scale.
  • importance: Top, High, Mid, Low, NA. If blank, this will default as unknown importance. Only Top will have a visible effect on the template - the other options will just assign the correct category. Descriptions of the options can be found at WikiProject Connecticut/Importance scale.
  • attention: Answer yes if the page needs immediate attention. Leave blank or delete if not.
  • imageneeded: Answer yes to request a photograph, image, or map of the subject be added to the article. Leave blank or delete if not.
  • in: Used in conjunction with the imageneeded parameter to place the image request into a specific Connecticut county. Leave blank or delete if not. For example, "in=Fairfield County, Connecticut" will place the article talk page into Category:Wikipedia requested photographs in Fairfield County, Connecticut.
  • imagedetails: This free-form parameter can be used in conjunction with the imageneeded parameter to add specific details about the images being requested. For example, "imagedetails=Please add a live-action shot to this sports article" will add the following: "An editor suggests the following: Please add a live-action shot to this sports article."
  • unref: Answer yes if the article needs additional references or inline citations. Leave blank or delete if not.
