Usage

The {{WikiProject Greece}} project banner template should be added (not subst:ed) to the talk page of every article within the scope of the project. While the template does not require any additional parameters, it has a number of optional ones that add various extra features to the banner. The full syntax is as follows:

{{WikiProject Greece
|class           =
|importance      =
|peer-review     =
|old-peer-review =
|attention       =
<!-- B-Class parameters -->
|B-Class-1       =
|B-Class-2       =
|B-Class-3       =
|B-Class-4       =
|B-Class-5       =
<!-- Task force parameters -->
|politics-task-force =
|athens-task-force =
<!-- Categorization parameters -->
|topic           =
<!-- Other parameters -->
|small           =
|needs-infobox   =
|auto            =
|listas          =
}}

Parameters

  • class – see the project's quality scale for details. B-class checklist (available only when |class=stub |class=start |class=c or |class=b):
    • b1 – Referencing and citation (see the project's B-class criteria for details).
    • b2 – Coverage and accuracy (see the project's B-class criteria for details).
    • b3 – Structure (see the project's B-class criteria for details).
    • b4 – Grammar and style (see the project's B-class criteria for details).
    • b5 – Supporting materials (see the project's B-class criteria for details).
    • Set these to "yes" or "y" if the article meets the criterion; "no" or "n" if it does not. If the criterion has not been checked, omit the parameter or leave it with a blank value.
  • importance – see the project's importance scale for details.
  • The parameters |B-Class-1= to |B-Class-5= are recognised as aliases for |b1= to |b5=. If both |b1= and |B-Class-1= are present, |B-Class-1= is ignored; similarly for the other four pairs.
  • small – set |small=yes to display a small version of the template aligned along the right side of the page (as opposed to at the top). This parameter does not work as expected if the banner template is enclosed in {{WikiProjectBannerShell}} or {{WikiProjectBanners}}.
  • listas – This parameter, which is the equivalent of the DEFAULTSORT sortkey that should be placed on all biographical articles, is a sortkey for the article talk page (e.g. for Kostas Rigopoulos, use |listas=Rigopoulos, Kostas so that the talk page will show up in the R's and not the K's of the various assessment and administrative categories; similarly, for topics with titles beginning with an article such as "the" or "a" - e.g. for The Sand Reckoner, use |listas=Sand Reckoner, The so that the talk page will show up in the S's). This is important because it is one source used by those who set DEFAULTSORT on the article; consider also setting the DEFAULTSORT for the article when setting this parameter. For more information about this, please see Wikipedia:Categorization of people#Ordering names in a category.
    It is not required if another WikiProject template on the same page has its own |listas= set.
  • category – set |category=no if, and only if, a banner is being used for demonstration or testing purposes, to prevent unnecessary or undesirable categorization. Otherwise, omit this parameter.
  • auto – This parameter is for the use of bots and indicates that the article has been automatically rated:
    • |auto=length – based on the length of the article
    • |auto=inherit – because one or more other projects use this class
    • |auto=yes (or |auto=stub), in conjunction with |class=stub – as Stub-Class because it uses a stub template
  • attention – set |attention=yes if the article needs immediate attention from experienced editors. Use only if another parameter does not cover the need for attention.
  • needs-infobox – set |needs-infobox=yes if the article needs an infobox.
  • peer-review – set |peer-review=yes if the article is currently undergoing a peer review, or to request that the peer review process for this page should be begun.
  • old-peer-review – set |old-peer-review=yes if the article has had a peer review which is now archived.
  • peer-review-title – if the peer review page exists but is not at Wikipedia:WikiProject Greece/Peer review/{{SUBJECTPAGENAME}}, set this parameter; i.e. if the peer review page is Wikipedia:WikiProject Greece/Peer review/Foobar, set |peer-review-title=Foobar

Notes

To avoid needlessly cluttering up talk pages, it is usually appropriate to remove any unused parameters from the template. A common initial configuration for the banner includes only six basic parameters:

{{WikiProject Greece
|class=
|B-Class-1=
|B-Class-2=
|B-Class-3=
|B-Class-4=
|B-Class-5=
}}

plus any applicable task force parameters.
