Question[edit]

Hello Colin Gleen! Welcome once more. I have a question. Can you tell me, please, why did you use the coat of arms of Bretagne for the template of Andrade Lands? Cheers! The Ogre (talk) 11:21, 17 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Well, that is a hard one. Because the lands of the Andrades in the 14th century included Britonia (see this external link: Britonia) and Bretagne/Brittany are supposed to have the same roots. What do you think? --Colin Gleen (talk) 12:11, 17 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]
Thanks for the reply Colin. But I believe that is not a suficient reason (the same roots for the names). Why not the Andrade coat of arms (see below)? Several Galician and Poruguese genealogical sites (I just googled it) say that's the one the counts used (the first at least). By the way, you may that a look at some copy edit I did in your reply - it's just some tricks one learns along the way! Oh! And generally one replies in the other editor's talk page, but no problem. Thanks a lot for the info on Britonia (I just edit a bit, also on Mailoc) - I did knew there had been some Romano-Britons who settled in Galicia, but I didn't know any specifics. I am going to try and place the Andradade coa in the template, you think it's not good, feel free to change, but I do believe that the one from Brittany is not a good choice (it pertains to a specific French tradition, whereas Iberian traditions are very different).
