Same as but using a slightly longer name for text label.

Borders for white flags[edit]

Please slightly change to:

 {{#if:{}|{name}|{{country shortname alias {}}}}}

This rendered the borders around flags.--AlefZet 11:06, 31 July 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Indeed, could someone please do this? — OwenBlacker 14:05, 13 January 2007 (UTC)[reply]
This seems problematic to me. Some flags already have a flag image that includes a border, some explicitly don't.
Example for a flag that already has a border:
= flagcountry
which expands as
 Poland
Wrapping this into a border call would look like this:
 Poland = Flag of Poland Poland
I've removed the editprotected for now (I'm also an admin and can edit the template, once we have consensus what to do).
As a side note, we are currently in the middle of a design change for the flag templates. See Wikipedia talk:WikiProject Flag Template#Ideas for reworking and especially User:Ligulem/work/flag templates rework. This template here would be replaced with Template:Country flagcountry2. --Ligulem 15:32, 13 January 2007 (UTC)[reply]
Flag images have been adjusted individually by people creating a bordered flag, often with "bordered" in the name of the new image name. The bordering issue can be dealt with separately before implementing a solution. Is there a relevant Wikiproject which can examine the issue? (SEWilco 06:10, 14 January 2007 (UTC))[reply]
