The Warning is a rock band from Monterrey, Mexico, started in 2014 consisting of sisters Daniela, Paulina, and Alejandra Villarreal; most notable for their 2015 cover of Metallica's "Enter Sandman."[1][2][3][4][5][6]

Biography

Drummer Paulina Villarreal Vélez was interviewed by Tom Tom Magazine a year before their cover of "Enter Sandman" became popular.[7] Metallica lead guitarist Kirk Hammett praised Paulina Villarreal Vélez's performance on "Enter Sandman," stating "The drummer kicks maximum ass!"[4][8]

The popularity of The Warning's "Enter Sandman" cover lead to an appearance on The Ellen DeGeneres Show.[2][9] Soon after, The Warning raised enough money on GoFundMe to release an EP of six original songs in 2015, titled Escape the Mind.[10]

The Warning has since released a second album, XXI Century Blood, in 2017.[2] In that year they will play as opening act for Def Leppard in the arena of Monterrey.[11]
