Thrasher is a monthly skateboarding magazine founded in 1981 by Kevin Thatcher, Eric Swenson, and Fausto Vitello.[2][3] It regularly publishes articles (not limited to the skateboarding subject), skateboard photography, interviews with professional skateboarders, interviews with and reviews of musical groups, skatepark reviews, and miscellaneous oddities.
In 1999 the magazine sponsored a PlayStation game called Thrasher: Skate and Destroy.
Since January 2006 the magazine is also published bimonthly in French language for francophone Europe.

[edit] Skate Rock series
Thrasher released a yearly music compilation title "Skate Rock" under the label of High Speed Productions, starting in 1983 with Volume One and continuing until Volume Seven in 1989. The series started out featuring California-based punk rock bands, eventually featuring bands fronted by skaters (Steve Caballero, Tony Alva, Klaus Grabke as Eight Dayz, etc.)
Of the seven volumes of Skate Rock, all volumes were produced as a cassette available through Thrasher Magazine. However, Volume Two is the only volume available as an LP.
