Joanna Lark, named after one of the company's co-founders and partners, is a London, UK based business selling clothing, boots, bondage gear and accessories aimed at the fetish fashion and BDSM markets. The company is the exclusive UK distributor of Ledapol products. Ledapol was established in Poland in 1990. Joanna Lark began to import and sell Ledapol products in the UK in 2008, giving the company its first entry into the UK market. Before expanding into the UK, Ledapol also exported to Germany (for Beate Uhse AG), Holland, Scandinavia, Australia and Japan.

Joanna Lark has a range of over 3000 products, with leather, latex and polyvinyl chloride (PVC) being the main materials used, although some lingerie and corsets are made from more conventional fabrics. The range of bondage gear includes floggers, spanking paddles, bondage cuffs and bondage harnesses, posture collars, ball gags, strap-on dildos, head harnesses and bondage hoods. The company also sells fetish fashion including tight-fitting skirts, dresses, tops and catsuits, as well as fetish footwear such as stiletto heels and latex boots, including thigh-length boots. Footwear is offered in sizes up to UK 12 (EU 47, US 13) and although the styles are designed for women, the company emphasises that they can also be bought and worn by men seeking to engage in feminization.

The company does not currently have a bricks-and-mortar premises, instead doing most of its business through its online store. However, shortly after establishing itself in the UK, JL promoted itself at two high-profile BDSM community events in London. In September it exhibited at the London Alternative Market Skin Two Special, part of a weekend of events which also featured the Skin Two Rubber Ball, and in October it was at the Expo, a similar event at the Barbican Centre during the London Fetish Weekend. JL also operates a stall on a monthly basis at the London Alternative Market (LAM), London Fetish Fair (LFF) and Birmingham Bizarre Bazaar (BBB). These are events at which potential customers can meet Joanna herself in person and find out about, try out and buy the company's products. Through its eponymous co-founder, a lifestyle dominant, Joanna Lark maintains links with the BDSM community in London and the UK, particularly through her appearances at London fetish club nights such as Club Pedestal, Torture Garden, Subversion, Club Decadence, Fetish Club Isis and others.
