I have recently started posting on wikipedia on occassion as a form of public service and scholarship. I have learned much from the wiki. I'm always surprised by the large gap in quality between articles. Some articles are of exceedingly high, publishable quality. Others are like high school book reports, or worse, transcripts of 101 classes taught using the socratic method. I tend to focus on the latter, as I haven't received my doctorate yet ;).
