...lives in coastal California, USA in the Santa Cruz Mountains just south of the San Francisco Bay Area. I have a B.A. from UC Berkeley and some graduate school in Mass Communication at Denver University. I am an SBE Certified Professional Broadcast Engineer (CPBE) and worked in that field as a commercial FM chief engineer until 1996 before becoming a contract sysadmin for small business networks.

I have interests in the arts and sciences and have been a Wikipedia user for several years. Never was a contributor before August 2006.
