Clarification of the user name including the words, "old bastard". The term "Old Bastard" in the Australian vernacular, when used in greeting is not derogatory . In fact, it is considered a term of endearment and friendship. A common way of greeting another male would be to slap them on the back while saying, "Hello, you old bastard". There also happens to be, (both internationally and in Australia), the "AOOB", (Australian Order Of Old Bastards), the "IOOB", (International Order Of Old Bastards) with appropriate sub-chapters. The Australian Order Of Old Bastards is primarily a charitable organisation aimed at fellowship and charity. Almost exclusively used by males the greeting can occasionally be heard from females, but not usually. I've provided this explanation so as not to offend.Aussieoldbastard 10:36, 30 August 2007 (UTC)
