Monomethylbenzenes[edit]

The only monomethylbenzene is toluene.

Dimethylbenzenes[edit]

There are three dimethylbenzenes, known as the xylenes. They are systematically named as o-xylene (ortho), m-xylene (meta) and p-xylene. (para)

Trimethylbenzenes[edit]

There are three trimethylbenzenes; known respectively as hemellitene, pseudocumene and mesitylene.

Tetramethylbenzenes[edit]

There are three tetramethylbenzenes; known respectively as prehnitene, isodurene and durene.

Pentamethylbenzenes[edit]

The only pentamethylbenzene is pentamethylbenzene.
