I am a technology journalist and advisor to arts and cultural organisations on matters related to digital technologies. Since 2000 I have appeared most weeklson Click on BBC World Service radio, and I write a monthly column for Focus magazine. I work as Head of Partnership Development for the BBC Archive, and am a member of the boards of Writers’ Centre Norwich, Britten Sinfonia and The Collections Trust I am a Visiting Professor at the Royal College of Art. I built and manage the Working for an MP website at http://www.w4mp.org/

During the 1990's I was Internet Ambassador for PIPEX, the UK's first commercial ISP where I developed websites for Comic Relief, the Edinburgh Fringe and Anne Campbell MP, before moving to Guardian Newspapers as head of new media. I established the paper's first website in 1994 and was responsible for many online projects including Eurosoccer.com in 1996.
