CLDWARHIST is the Wikipedia user name for George William Runkle IV. He was born in 1983 in Mt. Holly, New Jersey. He is the oldest son of G.W. and B. Runkle, and has one younger brother, Jay, who was born in 1987.

CLDWARHIST's father was a Civil Engineer in the Air National Guard and they moved to Rockville, Maryland in 1987, followed by Bethel Park, PA in 1991, and Lawrenceville, GA in 1998.

CLDWARHIST joined the Georgia Army National Guard in 2000, rising to the rank of Sergeant and serving in Operation Iraqi Freedom III from 2005-2006 before joining the ROTC program at Georgia Southern University. He holds a Bachelors of Arts in Anthropology (GSU class of 2007) and is currently in the Master of Arts in Social Sciences program at Georgia Southern University. He is engaged to Jaime AlChamaa and is scheduled to be married in May 2009.

CLDWARHIST's research interests include US Air Force unit and installation history, archeology, geology, military history, and anthropology.
