Neal Asbury (born May 2, 1957) is an American entrepreneur and Chief Executive of The Legacy Companies. In addition to being an advocate of entrepreneurship and free enterprise, he is a published author, and he hosts the nationally syndicated talk radio showTruth for America”.

Education

Neal Asbury attended Jefferson Township High School in Jefferson Township, New Jersey. After graduation he enrolled in Rowan State University in New Jersey. Neal graduated from Rowan State University in 1979 with a Bachelor of Arts degree.

Family

Neal married Elizabeth Trixia Gomez Carpio, a well known actress from the Philippines, on December 29, 1984. He has two daughters, Alyssa Kyla Asbury and Anjelica Dawn Asbury.

Early Career

After graduating from Rowan State University Neal began working in the mail room of a Fifth Avenue food service exporter. "A year later, the entry-level move had paid off, and Asbury was in Manila, working as director of sales for a large trading company and traveling to capitals throughout the Far East. Seven years later, he founded Asbury Worldwide."[1] In 1987, "Asbury Worldwide" which became the largest American Export Management Company in its segment, with twelve distribution facilities around the globe. In 1989, he began FAB Asia, Inc. in Manila, Philippines which was the exclusive Asian fabricator of commercial kitchens for McDonalds as well as other well-known American restaurant chains.

Acquisitions

After selling his group of companies in July of 1999, Mr. Asbury established Greenfield World Trade which is a global trading company selling and servicing American manufactured products in over 130 countries to both the retail and commercial markets. He further acquired J. Cobo, a distribution company with operations throughout Latin America; General, a manufacturer of food preparation equipment; Zeroll a manufacturer of high end kitchen gadgets and Omega, a manufacturer of electrical kitchen appliances.

Awards and Distinctions

With over twenty years of successful ventures Asbury has been the recipient of several distinctions. He has received the E-Star Export Award and the Export Achievement Award from the U.S. Department of Commerce. He was also the 2008 recipient of the United States National Champion Exporter of the Year Award. Additionally, Commercial News awarded Asbury Exporter of the Year Award for 2009 and he was a finalist for the Ernst & Young Entrepreneur of the Year Award in 2010. “To become the National Champion Exporter of The Year, Asbury's company first went through a series of competitions that included being recognized in February as "Exporter of the Year" for Florida (in February), which was preceded by being selected as the Region IV Exporter of the Year, covering the Southeast United States. Aside from being a successful entrepreneur, Asbury is an active member of several boards and councils. He is a founding faculty member of Export University (a collaboration between the District Export Council and the U.S. Department of Commerce). He is also the chairman of the Export University National Oversight Committee.

Additionally, he is vice chairman of the District Export Council National Steering Committee and chairman of the Florida District Export Council, appointed to serve by the U.S. Secretary of Commerce. Asbury also serves as a member of the International Advisory Committee to Governor Charlie Crist of Florida and he is a member of the prestigious International Policy Committee of the U.S. Chamber of Commerce in Washington D.C. He has testified before the Philippine Senate on multiple occasions on foreign trade.

Truth for America Radio Show

Each week Asbury hosts the nationally broadcasted talk radio showNeal Asbury’s Truth For America”, produced by Atlantic Radio Network. It is syndicated around the country including such stations as WZAB-AM 880 The Biz (Miami/Ft Lauderdale); WGKA-920 (Atlanta); KSEV (Houston/Galveston); 1500 AM (Washington D.C./Fredericksburg), KDOW-1220 (San Francisco/San Jose); and KKOL-1300 (Seattle/Tacoma). On “Truth for America” Asbury and his guests cover topics relating to America’s need to reinvigorate the entrepreneurial spirit that has made U.S. businesses the envy of the world in the pursuit of the “American Dream.” “Truth for America” is affiliated with Bloomberg Radio and CNBC.

Conscientious Equity Blog

Asbury’s Conscientious Equity blog is an on-line destination for visitors who share his interest for small business entrepreneurship and the benefits of expanding the U.S. role in global commerce. Topics discussed on the Conscientious Equity blog range from the healthcare crisis to job creation to international trade. His advocacy has taken him to address the United Nations at the Commission of Trade and Development, as well as frequent speaking engagements at universities, government events and trade associations. “It is my desire as Champion Exporter to leverage the award to promote the issues that are important to American exporters such as the pending Free Trade Agreements, Trade Promotion Authority and Intellectual Property Protection". Conscientious Equity: An American Entrepreneurs Solution to the World’s Greatest Problems

The focus of Asbury’s book “Conscientious Equity” is a plan of action to revitalize business in the United States and abroad. In “Conscientious Equity”, Asbury argues that moving away from intransigent political ideologies and toward a world driven by international commerce allows us to address and in fact solve economic instability, the destruction of the environment, crushing poverty, and crippling corruption. Conscientious Equity’s publisher, Palgrave Macmillan has set a release date for October 2010.
